My Favorite Wedding Pictures

It's been three months since my last post, and more appallingly, NINE months since the wedding -- but I finally have a set of my favorite wedding pictures to share! Thank you SO much to all the people who took these wonderful pics and shared them with us (especially Mom, Dad, and Jessica). Our official photographer took some beautiful pictures too, but unfortunately, we're not allowed to post those online.

Anyways, here's my favorite set from family and friends:

I can't wait to see everyone at the weddings coming up this summer! You know who you are. :-)

Our Bengal Kitties Caprice and Honey

One of the tutors at Kirkland House had a fantastic Bengal kitten who was the most outgoing, playful, and funny cat I've ever met. So naturally, I've wanted a Bengal kitten ever since. A week after the wedding, there happened to be a cat show in Pleasanton, so Chris and I popped by with the intention of "just looking". Of course, when we got there, the first thing we saw was a basket full of the cutest little leopard-spotted kittens, and you can probably guess what happened!

Here are some pictures of the little cuties:

How to Tell Them Apart:
  • Honey has lots of dark black spots and is a little speed dart, as well as a talented hunter. She's a little shy around strangers, but we think that's because she's smarter. She knows how to open cabinets and is really quick to learn tricks. (She learned "come" in like an hour, and she sometimes "fetches" toys if we throw them.) She's named Honey because we thought she was quiet and sweet when we first got her. Ironic. But she IS sweet sometimes -- especially when she takes a nap on our tummies.
  • Caprice has "rosettes" and her spots are spaced out more. She's hilarious. She has no fear of strangers or the outdoors and loves to go outside on a leash, but we think that's because she's a little dumber. Caprice routinely fell into the bathtub when we kept fishies in there, and she chases her tail so furiously that she often runs into walls. She's a never-ending barrel of laughs!
We also have a couple short videos of the kittens in action. They aren't terribly good videos, but pictures just don't do them justice sometimes!

Summer Road Trip 2005!

Hi Everyone!

Chris and I have finished our second week of work at Google, and our epic, 5,000-mile, 19-state, 6-week road trip adventure is already beginning to seem like a distant memory, but I promised that I would post some pictures and share all our fun stories, so that's why I'm starting this blog! To summarize, we had an AWESOME time, did some crazy things, and of course, had some crazy things happen to us!

P.S. A close runner-up for the title of this blog was "Thinking with Scissors -- How I Poked Out My Mind's Eye."

P.P.S. Apologies in advance for the grainy quality of these pictures. It's partially the fault of our old crappy camera, and partially the fault of Blogger JPEG compression. If you'd like, I can send you the original copies from my computer, which are significantly better.

P.P.P.S. Click on the "Satellite Image" link after each post. They're pretty cool.

Cambridge, MA - The Journey Begins!

You might expect that we would be bubbling with energy and excitement on the first day, but in actuality, we were still reeling from moving everything out of the apartment.

Before:
After:

I don't think we would have made it at all if Andrew and Tony hadn't pitched in. (Thanks again guys!)

The night before we left, we were busy packing until 4 in the morning, at which point we realized that we had no beds to sleep on. On the other hand, we did learn two priceless Gems of Wisdom (+3) for the long journey ahead:

  1. Hotel reservations are for sissies.
  2. Hotels give you great discounts if you check in at 4 a.m.
